Been so long since I last blogged so..
Day 1
Woke up at like around 5am to prepare and go school. Had only 4 hours of sleep lor >< Took like the earliest bus at 6:10am with mum. Wanted to sleep otw but cannot >< Reached school at 6:50am and there is already people in the canteen. Thought I would be the first few but not xD And here comes the worst thing about reaching school early -- helping teachers to carry things from Guides room to the lorry .-. We need to report at 7am but only leaving at around 7:45am -_- Half an hour of bus ride to Camp Christine @ Lim Chu Kang and its the start of the camp!
( Basically the whole day was - carrying, carrying, carrying. Helped to carry things back and forth for don't know how many times. Walking from the Olave Hall to the Lodge almost the whole day. Haizzz.. )
So the camp started with tent pitching for the 8 patrols of sec 1s and 2s. Sec 3s were suppose to help them but.. >< Build the kitchen shelter with Yi Juan, Tricia, Ying Zhen, Tiffany, Zhi Ning and Syamira. Everything was so difficult as it is our first time building it. Had lunch in the lodge with a big meal ring that doesn't fit everybody in. We had rice with cabbage, chicken in some sauce and a cup of apple juice. After that, we just continue tying our gadgets. Followed by axemanship, in this activity everybody have to take an axe and chop the charcoal into half or smaller pieces, thin enough to use for outdoor cooking. We were supposed to carry out outdoor cooking in the evening but sadly, it rained. Outdoor cooking changed to campfire preparation (sec 1s and 2s) and planning for night activity (sec 3s). Dinner was cooked by the teachers. Shower and night activity after that. All the programmes were delayed and we only started night activity at 10pm. Station masters with Yi Juan in front of the lodge xD Night activity almost finishing but it rained again -.- The teachers told us to quickly take our sleeping bags and sleep in the Olave Hall for that night.
Day 2
Woke up at 6:10am with like everybody else gone. The 5 of us were like "为什么没有人的?" "为什么他们没有叫我们起来?" Because last night Ms Ong say that one person wake up, must wake everybody up. Aiya.. who cares anyway.
Morning exercise carried out in the field(?)/grass patch by Zhi Ning and Syamira. Breakfast in the lodge and making of friendship bracelet taught by Ms Alfie. Took about 1 hour to make. Had outdoor cooking for lunch. We had instant noodles only since its too troublesome to buy other food :p Took 1 hour plus to start the fire before we can cook. Luckily we finished cooking AND eating before it rains (again). Campfire preparation (sec 1s and 2s) and soaking of firewood in kerosene (sec 3s). Shower, dinner and then CAMPFIRE ^.^ *forgot to bring lightsticks out of the tent :(* Starting of campfire was quite okay but after that the patrols performances didn't carry out well as most of them were not prepared so the atmosphere was abit down. A short 15 minutes break after campfire before foot drill. We actually accumulated 2 hours of being late for the foot drill session.. The teachers wanted us to have foot drill outside, on the road between Scouts and Guides campsite .-. Took turns to march back and forth as a squad ( sec 1 / sec 2 / sec 3 ). Foot drill ended at 1am and we went back to the tents to sleep.
Day 3
Woke up at 6:30am this time since there is much time left after waking up earlier yesterday.
Morning exercise and then breakfast. Strike tent, untie gadgets and everything. Took around 3 hours before everybody is ready to go. French toast and iced milo before leaving Camp Christine. Slept on the bus otw back to school because sleeping at 1am for 3 nights ( + the night before camp) is too much for me. Reached school at 1pm plus and carrying all the things back to Guides room. Debrief by Ms Ong and 'prize presentation' for Best Camper ( sec 1, sec 2 and sec 3) and Best Patrol. Break camp!!
(( The only camp that I didn't have enough sleep. // Burped alot throughout this camp. ))
'Burden.'
'Can you not?'
'Erm..'
'Oh ya!'
Actually they are the most hardworking ones -- Ms Ong
Glad you know that -- Ying Zhen
